What will I learn?

Shape the future of the civil engineering industry with this qualification. This course will provide you with the knowledge and leaderships skills required for the principal areas of civil construction so that you can establish yourself in this expanding industry. You will be taught engineering drafting standards AS1100 and gain exposure to CAD packages selected from AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit and 12D.

You will learn sustainability principles and produce civil construction drawings as part of your assessment.

Gain skills to work with steel and concrete structures, design principles of bulk earth works and plan civil works

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry requirements vary from country to country. Equivalent to Australian Year 12 with a pass in Year 11 Maths is required for entry into this course or Completion of MEM30505 Certificate III in Engineering - Technical is required for entry into this course.

IELTS score (academic) of 5.5 with no band score less than 5.0; TOEFL 55 (iBT); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic - Minimum Level 43; Password score of 5.5; Eiken Grade Pre 1; Successful completion of at least 2 years of study at an acceptable grade in an English medium course completed within the previous 2 years OR GCE O Levels English with 'C'; 'A' or 'B' in Malaysian SPM English or 'C' in 1119 English; Kenyan KCSE English 'C'; International Baccalaureate (IB) Minimum of 3 in English A1 or A2; Completion of the Cambridge First Certificate of English (FCE); Successful completion of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at Upper Intermediate Level or equivalent at North Metropolitan TAFE or a recognized English college.
