USQ’s Associate Degree of Criminology and Criminal Justice has been designed to prepare you for a rewarding career within or connected with the criminal justice system.

Explore the nature and causes of crime, examine the function of the criminal justice system, and develop skills for researching crime and crime-related issues. Learn about current crime intervention and prevention strategies through the criminal justice system and external agencies, and benefit from opportunities to engage with professionals working within the criminal justice sector.

You will have the option to obtain industry experience and develop work-ready skills that can be directly transferred to a wide range of roles.

Studies in criminology and criminal justice prepare students with relevant knowledge and skills for careers within the criminal justice system, child protection, crime research, strategic planning and development, policy development, security, research, government agencies, non-government organisations, and private enterprises.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students must have completed High School Diploma + SAT. SAT Composite Score 125. Applications are based on comparisons with Australian Year 12 level examinations. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic only) score of 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5); TOEFL (paper based) score of 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) score of 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) score of 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) score of 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English: First (FCE)/ B2 First with a score of 169 or above. No less than 162 in each skill.

For international students

Applicant must have Australian year 12 level or equivalent.

Students from different country must have qualifications equivalent to Australia.
