What will I learn?

The visual arts and design major is tailored for individuals fuelled by a passion for both art and graphic design. Throughout the degree, you will have an opportunity to specialise in a range of visual art disciplines: painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, textiles, photography, and installation art. Explore contemporary design practice, covering visual communication design, client-based projects, and interface design.The major provides ample studio time for hands-on creative explorations, underpinned by art and design histories and theories, ensuring you acquire essential creative and critical skills crucial for thriving in the contemporary arts and creative industries. The culmination of your academic journey is marked by a capstone project-based subject, providing you with the unique opportunity to seamlessly integrate both fields of study.

Entry requirements

For international students

Prospective candidates need to possess a high level of research competency and a strong foundation in theoretical work; they should have a demonstrated ability to focus on a defined topic and to sustain an argument. In general, students who have completed the requirements of a Bachelor of Creative Arts degree (or an approved equivalent degree) and achieved at least a distinction average may apply to undertake the Bachelor of Creative Arts Honours degree in their major study area.Admission to Honours is by recommendation of the relevant Honours Coordinator and approval by the Head of Students of the Faculty, as well as acceptance by an academic supervisor/s in the discipline
