What will I learn?

From individuals to institutions and everything in between, you’ll learn how societies are shaped and changed, and you’ll be equipped to think critically about crime and criminal justice. Applying theory to reality, your sociological knowledge will empower you to contribute to pressing social issues like improved crime prevention and rehabilitation strategies. You’ll gain insights into Australian criminal law and understand how social norms and inequities influence experiences within the criminal justice system. The Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice majoring in Sociology will develop your understanding of sociological concepts, theories and issues to complement your growing knowledge of criminology and criminal justice. To be eligible, an applicant must have achieved at least one of the following minimum entry requirements and demonstrate they fulfil any prerequisite and essential criteria for admission.
