About this course

What will I learn?

In this initial teacher education course you will gain the skills, knowledge and practical learning experiences to teach young children (aged from birth to eight years) in early education settings. These include early learning and childcare centres, kindergarten, pre-primary and junior primary classes. Your learning will address the specific needs of early childhood educators, ensuring you graduate with the competencies required to be a successful teacher. This course is accredited in Australia by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority, and accredited in Western Australia by the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia. Develop real-world experience before you graduate. Learn how work-integrated learning helps you build career skills and connect with industry early.

Entry requirements

For international students

To apply for entry into this course, you must have met:

  • the course ATAR (Australian Tertiary Academic Rank) or equivalent recognised overseas qualification
  • ATAR - 70
  • Completion of Australian Year 12 (VCE, HSC, QCE, WACE, SACE, TCE, NTCE, ACT) with a minimum Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 70; and a scaled mark of at least 50 in English, Literature, or English as an Additional Language or Dialect.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma - 24
  • Prerequisite subjects - Desirable subjects, Mathematics is desirable.
