What will I learn?

Students enjoy a supportive learning environment where care and attention are given to their individual needs. Credit for previous nursing/health experience may apply.

The EN works with the registered nurse (RN) as part of the health care team and demonstrates competence in the provision of person-centred care. Core practice generally requires the EN to work under the direct or indirect supervision of the RN. At all times, the EN retains responsibility for his/her actions and remains accountable in providing delegated nursing care.

Graduates benefit from quality employment pathways and/or may build onto their Diploma by continuing onto undergraduate university studies at any number of Australian universities. This Diploma program will provide 12 months credit off most undergraduate nursing degrees (subject to approval).

400 hours of approved Professional Practice Placement. Part time available by approval.

Placement Requirements:

All students will be required to wear an EQUALS uniform or the appropriate uniform required by the workplace.

Professional Practice Placements are hosted through a variety of metropolitan and country health services across both private and public sectors. Professional Practice Placements are allocated to students in advance and are not able to be changed or altered by the student once a placement is offered. Students fortunate enough to be provided with country placements will be provided with additional information regarding travel and accommodation through their Moodle.
