What will I learn?

The Diploma of Science provides a pathway into the second year of a Monash University Science degree. Core subjects introduce students to the fundamentals of the scientific method in both theory and practice, and units are available across a range of science and related disciplines including Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Psychology, Computing and Engineering. Our diplomas are in two parts: part 1 and part 2. In part 1, you’ll study core science subjects. In part 2, you’ll study the same subjects as first-year University students and develop your specialist knowledge of science. Part 2 is completed over two trimesters across nine months. You’ll complete eight units that are equivalent to first-year Monash University science units, including: Six core units, and Two elective units aligned with your interests and future study goals. Part 2 develops your specialist knowledge, practical lab experience, and readiness to transition into the second year of your Monash Science degree.
