Entry requirements

For students from United States

An Australian Bachelor degree with at least Second Class Honours - Upper (First Class Honours is often required) or its international equivalent, or Another degree with a significant research/thesis component that may be assessed as equivalent to paragraph or A combination of qualifications, research publications and/or professional experience related to the field of study that may be assessed as equivalent to paragraph. Academic IELTS overall score of 6.5 with at least 6 in each component of the test; TOEFL internet based test overall score of 80, with a minimum of 20 in Reading and Writing and 18 in Speaking and Listening; TOEFL paper based test score of 570 with TWE score of 4.5; Cambridge CAE Advanced score of 176 overall with at least 169 in all sub skills; PTE Academic -an overall score of 64 with a minimum score of 55 in each of the communicative skills.

For international students

To be admitted to the Doctor of Philosophy program you will be required to have completed at least an Australian Honours degree or equivalent, with a result of H2A (Second Class Honours Division A). Equivalence may be met by completion of a Master’s degree that includes a significant research component.

You may be granted admission if you can demonstrate that you have a background equivalent to these qualifications.
