What will I learn?

This course is designed to provide an opportunity for professional engineers to extend their knowledge and update their skills in line with recent advances. This course allows busy professional engineers to embark on postgraduate studies before committing to a master's degree. The course follows an integrated approach to professional practice through professional engineering subjects and subjects relating to a particular stream (major). Upon completion, students may articulate to a relevant master's program with credit for the subjects completed in this course.Students who hold an undergraduate engineering degree are able to enhance their knowledge and skills in their respective streams (majors), enabling them to gain and hold employment in relevant engineering fields.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must have one of the following qualifications in Engineering or Information Technology in an area relevant to the proposed major:Completed Australian masters or doctoral degree, or overseas equivalent.ORCompleted Australian bachelor's degree, graduate diploma, or graduate certificate, or overseas equivalent, with more than 75% of all subjects completed at pass level (conceded pass not included)ORCompleted Australian bachelor's degree, graduate diploma, or graduate certificate, or overseas equivalent, with more than 70% of all subjects completed at pass level (conceded pass not included) AND A minimum of 2 years full-time, or equivalent part-time, relevant post-secondary professional experienceIt is a requirement that the bachelor's degree be in engineering and relevant to the applicant's proposed stream, with no more than 25 per cent of subjects failed.
