What will I learn?

The Graduate Diploma in Computer Science provides students with any undergraduate degree and some programming/maths experience with the equivalent of a major in Computer Science.

The course will augment students’ existing knowledge with considerable technical expertise in computer science, including exposure to a variety of programming paradigms, an understanding of the systematic processes underpinning the software development lifecycle, and an appreciation of advanced topics in computing.

Career outcomes

Roles you could consider with this major include software engineer or developer, project manager, database manager, systems analyst, IT consultant, network systems engineer, programmer, solutions architect and infrastructure architect.

You might work in a software company, or in industries ranging from telecommunications, manufacturing and finance through to consulting, education, health and more.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Graduate coursework programs normally require the satisfactory completion of an undergraduate degree with a major in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent, and appropriate prerequisite studies for your stream. English language requirements: IELTS (academic English Only) - 6.5 overall, with written 6.5 and no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (paper-based test) - 577 + TWE 4.5; TOEFL (internet-based test) - 79 + (Writing 21; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13); Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 58 + no other communicative skill below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 176 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill.

For international students

An undergraduate degree in any discipline with a weighted average mark of at least H3 (65%), or equivalent.

English language requirements:
