What will I learn?

This program will deepen your understanding of the role of design in today’s business landscape and allow you to apply design thinking in practice. You’ll learn how to use design as a framework for solving complex problems and have an opportunity to apply design methods to real-world scenarios.This program is suited to a range of graduates who seek to develop their skills across creativity, ingenuity, and critical thinking.Through a combination of core units, advanced core units and electives you will acquire broad skills in communication, information literacy, inventiveness, and critical thinking.You can choose to focus on Design Innovation or on Strategic Design in your Major Project. Depending on your focus, you will learn about the principles of design-led innovation, developing strategies for innovation and devising practices that lead to a strategic advantage in the market.The Graduate Diploma will provide you with a foundation for the more intensive theoretical and practical work undertaken in the Master of Design.

Entry requirements

For international students

Admission to candidature for the Graduate Diploma in Digital Communication and Culture requires:

a bachelor's degree with a minimum 60% average calculated over the whole degree, from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification; or

completion of the embedded Graduate Certificate in Digital Communication and Culture with a minimum credit (65%) average, or an equivalent qualification.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
