What will I learn?

Designed for students interested in pursuing a career in the renewable energy or electrical power industryThis specialisation is intended to provide graduates with strong competencies in the fundamental electrical engineering discipline areas with a complementary focus on the utilisation generation management and design of renewable energy resources The course provides broad coverage across a range of core electrical power subjects leading to more indepth studies relating to renewable energy systems As with all of the Schools engineering programs the Electrical and Renewable Energy program focuses on the development of knowledge and skills relevant to professional engineering practice and along with a sound theoretical base includes strong elements of practical problem solving team work and project development As a result as well as having multiple technical and transferable skill competencies graduates will gain strong analytical skills and have the ability to lead complex projects

Entry requirements

For international students

All applicants are required to have completed a Bachelor degree in engineering or engineering technology, with equivalents considered. Alternatively applicants can have completed the Bachelor of Engineering Science, with equivalents considered, successful applicants with an Engineers Australia accredited 4 year AQF level 8 Bachelor of Engineering Honours (or equivalent) may be eligible for a reduced course duration through the award of credit and recognition of prior learning.Academic admission requirements (Band 8) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:Bachelor degree in a cognate discipline; orWhere accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience.English competency requirements:
