What will I learn?

Effective management of information and communication is critical to business success. This master degree will prepare you for careers leading and enhancing the ICT capabilities of organisations. During the course you will gain technical skills in programming, data communications, database design, and system analysis and design. You'll build expertise in the management and application of information systems and technology, and examine the impact of technology on the changing business environment – with a particular focus on AI and its adoption in business. Work-integrated learning is a strong component of this course, with opportunities for internships and study tours. You can also enhance your professional connections through networking events and engaging with industry guest lecturers. In addition, students in this course are eligible for membership of the Australian Computer Society – which offers many networking and continuing education opportunities. This is a Master of Information Systems and Technology specialisation designed for ICT professionals looking to upskill into management roles, and for graduates and other professionals who want to gain the skills for a career in ICT. You will learn to understand and apply broad concepts in data mining, business intelligence and data interpretation to make informed business decisions. As a both a producer and a consumer of data, you’ll learn about data management and security practices, as well as the legal and ethical issues related to collecting and using data. You'll also get practical insights into ICT applications through an industry-based project, and you can gain real-world experience and global exposure by completing an internship or international study tour.
