What will I learn?

Technology is transforming our society and global relationships. Industry and government need a new breed of lawyers who understand the legal, commercial and policy implications for the design and implementation of new products and new business models.This specialisation will equip lawyers and other professionals with skills and scholarship needed to face novel challenges and to develop innovative and practical approaches to solving problems thrown up by new technologies.Learning OutcomesEvaluate complex legal problems, concepts and risks arising from the implementation of new technologies.Undertake legal research, legal writing and resolution of complex legal problems existing in operational domains created and supported by new technologies.Research, reflect and write on the practice or theory of new technologies law.Critically examine scholarship in relation to the use of new technologies in different use cases, including private and public law.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must present one of the followingA Bachelor of Laws Bachelor of Laws Honours Juris Doctor Graduate Certificate of Law or Bachelor Degree in any cognate discipline with a minimum GPA of 5.0.Bachelor of Laws Bachelor of Laws Honours Juris Doctor Graduate Certificate of Law or Bachelor Degree in any cognate discipline with a minimum GPA of 4.0 plus 3 years of relevant professional experience.The GPA for a Bachelor program will be calculated from i a completed Bachelor degree using all grades and or ii a completed Bachelor degree using all grades other than those from the last semester or equivalent study period of the Bachelor degree The higher of the two calculations will be used as the basis for admission.
