Learn how to deliver value as an effective leader within a tourism and hospitality organisation through the Master of Management (Tourism and Hospitality). The Master of Management (Tourism and Hospitality) is designed to provide highly developed knowledge of contemporary management theories, concepts and skills as well as an advanced understanding of how Tourism and Hospitality organisations function, the diverse challenges they face and the complex environments in which they operate. This postgraduate degree provides advanced, transferable, conceptual and professional skills through a program of student-centred learning and research experience in an industry setting. You will develop the cutting-edge professional management, communication, analytical and practical decision-making attributes required to make a valuable contribution in the Tourism and Hospitality sector. Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to: Apply advanced and integrated knowledge of complex theoretical concepts relevant for the tourism and hospitality industry. Develop innovative, evidence-based solutions to complex tourism and hospitality business problems. Communicate and negotiate effectively with stakeholders through high-level oral and written communication, flexibly adapting to changing contexts and situations. Critique a range of contemporary social, economic, environmental, political and cultural factors facing organisations in the constantly evolving tourism and hospitality industry. Critically evaluate and apply sustainable practices, risk management processes, and ethical and cultural considerations, including indigenous culture, in tourism and hospitality management. Critically reflect on and evaluate the practices of cross-cultural teams and their personal management and leadership styles towards sustainable organisational success. Employ critical thinking to independently research and provide robust evidence for management decisions. Synthesise and apply advanced knowledge, observation, and reflective practice to enhance organisational performance within professional tourism and hospitality work settings.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must meet one (1) of the following criteria: Successful completion of a bachelor degree from an Australian higher education institution or overseas equivalent. Successful completion of a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma from an Australian higher education institution or overseas equivalent. Successful completion of at least two award, or non-award postgraduate subjects (at AQF Level 8 or above) from an Australian higher education institution or overseas equivalent. Successful completion of an approved Postgraduate Qualifying Program from an Australian higher education institution or overseas equivalent. For mature age entry (21plus): successful completion of a diploma or associate degree qualification (or equivalent as recognised by the Australian Government's qualifications recognition tool) and four years of relevant management experience.
