Our Master of Medicine (Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Development) provides students with the knowledge and skills to make significant contributions to therapeutic product research, development, evaluation, regulation and monitoring for the health and wellbeing of the community.Who is it for?Our course is designed for clinicians wishing to pursue careers that relate to the development and safe use of medicines, cell and gene therapies and medical devices.Career pathsOur Master of Medicine (Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Development) has been designed to ensure that the knowledge you gain can be applied to current industry needs and be readily integrated into your day-to-day work.Graduates of our course will have the opportunity to move into careers in different areas of the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and medical technology industry including:medical and scientific affairsregulatory affairsclinical trialspharmacovigilance and product safetyhealth technology assessment or pharmacoeconomicsquality assurancemanufacturingresearch and developmentGraduates may also move into government roles in the TGA or federal or state health departments, contract research or manufacturing organisations.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:

an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification, or

an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent, and five years relevant professional work experience, or

the relevant University of Sydney Graduate Diploma in Engineering or Graduate Certificate in Engineering with a credit average (65 percent).
