About this course

What will I learn?

Good quality research makes an important contribution to public health. The Research Methods specialisation is designed for students who want to gain a good understanding of the key research methods relevant to public health and to gain experience in applying these methods.The Master of Public Health is a postgraduate coursework degree that will give you the essential knowledge and skills required for practitioners in public health, including the effective management of community health problems to improve conditions and outcomes.You will complete core units covering foundational public health concepts including epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion, research and ethics. You will also complete elective units, and you can choose to use your elective credit point allowance to complete an optional specialisation.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:a pass in bachelor's degree with a credit average (65 percent) in a quantitative discipline; oran honours bachelors degree, from the University of Sydney, or qualifications deemed by the faculty to be equivalent; ora University of Sydney Graduate Diploma in Complex Systems with a credit average (65 percent), or equivalent qualification.
