What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Child Health is a collaborative effort between the Department of Health Sciences and the Department of Child and Youth Studies and is managed by the Department of Health Sciences. It is designed for students wishing to pursue careers concerned with the health of children. The program provides students with a biological, psychological and sociological overview of the major determinants of health from birth though adolescence. Early during undergraduate studies, it is the students' responsibility to research prerequisites for advanced courses as well as admission requirements for any post-graduate programs to which they may plan to apply. This unique four-year program is for individuals who aspire to develop a career working with children in a health-related profession. We draw on the strengths of the departments of Health Sciences and Child and Youth Studies to explore child health from a multidisciplinary perspective. Students will gain an understanding of the physical, mental, emotional and social components of child health.
