Criminology is the interdisciplinary study of crime as both an individual and social phenomenon, with research on the origins and forms of crime, its causes and consequences, and social and governmental reactions to it. Criminology is for you if you have an active interest in a multitude of fields and seek to develop a critical and focused mind.This program explores relationships between the study of criminology and psychology. Joint major students (or prospective students) are encouraged to see advisors in both departments. The Department of Psychology offers programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level. At the undergraduate studies level, we offer BA and BA Honours in Psychology, as well as joint major, minor and extended minor for students pursuing a degree in another discipline.The School of Criminology is one of the largest in Canada and on the Pacific Rim and is one of the leading criminology and criminal justice teaching and research centres in the world. The School has a complement of over 30 full time faculty members, a large number of adjunct professors and associate members, over 1,000 declared majors, minors and honours students, and more than 100 graduate students.
