What will I learn?

The Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies and the Department of English have complementary interests in gender, sexuality, and women's issues. This joint major is for those who share these interests. Students are encouraged to plan their program in consultation with advisors in both departments.Words make worlds. Gain insight into the world of ideas. Deepen your knowledge of language, literature, and writing. Understand the role of the written word in reflecting and shaping culture. Think critically, creatively, and deeply. Discuss, defend, refine, and argue your ideas with others.The Department of English offers a wide range of courses covering the spectrum of English studies from Print Culture to Creative Writing, Performance Studies to Writing and Rhetoric, Old English language to Postmodern poetry, and Shakespeare and Chaucer to contemporary Indigenous, Settler, and Diasporic literatures.

Entry requirements

For international students

Official International High school Transcripts required.Submit a transcript which includes grades for all courses completed and final grades for the first semester of Senior Year. Graduation from a university-preparatory program at a senior high school. International Baccalaureate IB Diploma is required. You must successfully complete the full IB Diploma, including at least 3 HL courses
