The Faculty of Education's Teacher Education offers the Bachelor of Education, full-time or part-time. This program prepares students for instruction in Ontario's French-language elementary and secondary schools. The curriculum that prepares for teaching in elementary schools is generalist in nature, while the curriculum leading to secondary education takes a more specialized approach. Each program has specific academic requirements and admission procedures.Initial teacher education is the first step for people wishing to become teachers. The articulation between theory and practice is at the heart of the programs and is articulated through the concerted alternation between the university and school environments. In keeping with the University's mission to serve the Franco-Ontarian community, the Faculty proposes an openness to the expression of the diversification of values and the needs of pedagogical practices by feeding reflection on the culture and dynamism of this community living in a minority environment.Teacher education programs comply with the regulations for obtaining the Certificate of Qualification and Registration and the Professional Designation of the Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT).
