What will I learn?

Were known nationally and around the world as a school that educates architects with a solid integrated understanding of design and building thinking sustainably with their community in mind using creative and artful designs. The Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies is a two-year program entered after completing two years of university studies in another subject. You take courses in design humanities technology and professional practice.Youll work individually and collaboratively on design projects in the studio learning manual skills in drawing modeling and building and then the equivalent digital skills. The four-month co-op work term is a great way to begin applying new knowledge in a professional architectural practice. Co-op work terms include opportunities across the country and around the world and typically involve various aspects of building design including design drawing model-making computer drafting and construction supervision.

BEDS Admission RequirementsThe School seeks applicants with a good academic record and creative ability. The minimum requirements for admission area printed portfolio of design work that demonstrates creativity andor artistic skill it may include freehand drawings paintings furniture sculpture craft objects creative photography construction projects etc.two years in a university degree program with a minimum 2.5 grade point average (B- average) including the following coursestwo courses at 1000-level or higher in a mathematics or science subject biology chemistry computer science engineering geology mathematics physics or statistics (but not economics environment geography management planning or psychology and not history of mathematics)two courses at 1000-level or higher in a humanities or social science subject e.g. anthropology art history classics literature music history philosophy political science psychology or sociology (but not geography planning language instruction or music instruction)one course that emphasizes
