What will I learn?

A Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BScF) is about trees, plants, water, and wildlife management – the atmosphere, soils, and landscapes. It’s about people’s beliefs and values. It’s about the economy and about spirit. BScF is about managing all these in sustainable ways. It’s about solving complex problems for the benefit of current and future generations.The BScF program at UNB is one of the oldest in Canada and has been offered for more than 100 years. We have a deep history in producing graduates who are much sought after in the industry, and many have gone on to become leaders in the field. We are the only English Faculty of Forestry in Atlantic Canada.Hands-on learningYou will learn outdoors in our university’s forests, including the 1,500-hectare University Forest near the Fredericton campus. You will also collaborate on projects with the scientists and managers at the nearby Atlantic Forestry Research Centre and at the headquarters of the New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students must have completed a recognized secondary (high school) credential in your country. International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) - English Language, English First Language, English Literature (other literature-based language courses will be considered). Mathematics (must be taken at AS/Adv. Level). Chemistry. 1 of either Biology or Physics. 1 elective from group 1 or 2 (a group 4 elective may be used for entrance to Computer Science only). Overall average of B or higher in the subjects above. International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) - English A: Language & Literature (other languages will be considered) Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (SL or HL) or Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation HL. Chemistry. 1 of either Biology or Physics. 1 elective from group 1 or 2 (*a group 4 elective may be used for entrance to Computer Science only). Overall average of 4 or higher in the subjects above
