What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) prepares you for a professional licensure as a registered nurse. You will be qualified to practice safe, quality, evidence-informed health care to promote, sustain and restore health. Over the course of your four-year degree, you will acquire foundational knowledge across the nursing scope of practice, including relational practice. Through laboratory learning, simulation, and practicums, you will practice and consolidate your clinical knowledge and skills. The UBC Okanagan Campus School of Nursing offers an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) program.Important Note for students: Year 3 and Year 4 of the Nursing programs (Basic, LPN Access and RN Access) are split into three cohorts:Cohort 1 completes Year 3 from May through December, and Year 4 from January through August.Cohort 2 completes Year 3 from September through April, and Year 4 from May through December.Cohort 3 completes Year 3 from May through August and January through April, and Year 4 from September through April.The parchment is granted at the June convocation for all three cohorts.

English is the primary language of instruction at UBC. All prospective students are required to demonstrate a minimum level of English before theyre admitted.Complete four or more consecutive years of recognized, full-time education in English within Canada immediately prior to attending UBC.Complete four or more consecutive years of full-time education in English in a country other than Canada where English is the principal language. These four years must be immediately prior to attending UBC.Achieve a final exam grade of 70% or better on the provincial examination portion of Alberta English Language Arts 30-1, BC English 12 (achieved August 2019 or earlier), or equivalents.Achieve a final grade of 4 or better on Advanced Placement (AP) English Language & Composition or AP Literature & Composition; or achieve a final grade of 5 or better on International Baccalaureate English A: Language and Literature or English A: Literature (higher-level or standard level).
