What will I learn?

Gain the essential skills you need to enter the field of information technology. UFV's Computer Information Systems (CIS) certificate is a two-semester program. It will give you the knowledge and skills to support small companies that rely on single-user systems.Your courses will emphasize practical learning. You'll apply the theories you're learning through hands-on projects in UFV's well-equipped labs.You'll have the flexibility to choose courses based on your interests. This will prepare you to work in different areas, depending on your choices. You could focus on web support, user technical support, or computer support, for example.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants must have completed B.C. secondary school graduation or equivalent; Mature student 19 years or older.

English Language Requirement:

  • IELTS (Academic) - score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum band score of 6.0
  • TOEFL - score of 88 or higher (iBT) with no section below 20
  • CAEL - score of 70
  • PTE - score of 61 with 60 in writing
  • MELAB - score of 85
  • DET (Duolingo English Test) - 110

Deadline - Winter semester: Sept. 15; Summer semester: Feb. 1; Fall semester: April 15
