What will I learn?

The Materials Engineering Program has a strong research record with a mixof fundamental research coupled with work of direct commercial relevance conducted in collaboration with industry. The program offers opportunities for study in fields ranging from materials production including extraction from ores and recycling to the design development and processing of these materials. The Doctor of Philosophy is primarily a research degree and requires a thesis-based research masters degree for admission. It usually requires four courses completion of the departmental gradate seminar requirements a comprehensive examination and an original research thesis. The thesis must be significant and original contribution to the discipline and should include significant material of publishable quality.
