What will I learn?

Students in the International Year One: Social Science program will complete three terms of studies at WesternIC and upon successful completion of the program will progress to their second year of studies towards a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in the Faculty of Social Science at Western University. Social Science at Western is known for blending critical inquiry with real-world learning as students explore complex global issues. Students can expect high-quality instruction and the opportunity to interact with world class researchers. Through course work and experiential learning opportunities, Western Social Science develops graduates prepared with a variety of skills to adapt to the rapidly changing global environment.

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry into International Year One generally requires the successful completion of Year 12 of secondary school or equivalent with a minimum of 80% overall, and individual subject requirements will depend on each program.

Applicants are required to submit all official academic transcripts including any post-secondary studies.

Australia Year 12 (Higher Secondary Certificate) with an average of B and a copy of ATAR/ TE Score or Rank.

International Baccalaureate Diploma with minimum 25 points (including the Extended Essay and TOK) and no mark lower than 3.

GCE A level results with 1 B and 2 C in 3 academic subjects and a minimum of a C grade in 5 GCSE/IGCSE/Ordinary Levels or equivalent in academic subjects.
