Our programme gives students a solid foundation for many well-paid career opportunities. Digital Mechatronic Engineers are going to build the machines of the future. If you have a passion for technology, engineering, and innovation, this is the perfect fit. Digital mechatronics is the intersection of mechanics, electronics, robotics and AI/Machine Learning. This interdisciplinary field has revolutionised how we design and build machines, robots, and other automated systems that are now making autonomous decisions in our increasingly digitised world. With the rise of automation and Industry 4.0, the demand for professionals who understand digital mechatronics has never been higher.The Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Masters of Engineering (ME) in Digital Mechatronic Engineering are an integrated suite of programmes of 4 and/or 5 years in duration, respectively. They follow a 4 plus1 model, where you can opt to take a BE after 4 years of study, or carry on for an additional year for an ME degree. This integrated programme is divided into three parts.

Entry requirements

For international students

Minimum grades - Applicants are required to hold at the time of enrolment the established Leaving Certificate (or an approved equivalent) with a minimum of six subjects which must include: Two H5 (Higher Level) grades and Four O6 (Ordinary Level) grades or four H7 (Higher Level) grades. Subjects must include Mathematics, Irish or another language, and English. Subject requirements - In addition, applicants must hold a minimum grade H4 in Mathematics and grade O6/H7 in one of the following: Physics, Chemistry, Physics with Chemistry, Engineering, Technology, Design & Communication Graphics/Technical Drawing, Computer Science, Biology, Agricultural Science, Applied Maths, Construction Studies.
