The Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (BE(Hons)) degree focuses on how complex engineering problems that matter to society can be solved using engineering design principles and methods. By studying chemical and process engineering, you will learn a holistic approach to problem solving and gain essential skills for tackling global sustainability challenges in food, energy, water and waste. Chemical and process engineers seek to harness fundamental chemical reactions and physical phenomena to develop, optimise and control large-scale production and manufacturing processes. Entry requirements

For international students

The University of Waikato sets standards for English language proficiency for admission to the University for applicants whose first language is not English or te reo Māori. All international applicants, as well as New Zealand and Australian permanent visa holders, are required to provide satisfactory evidence of their proficiency in English.Applicants must achieve a minimum of 6 points taken from three subjects, achieving a minimum grade of C in at least one subject. Points calculated as follows: A = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D = 2, E = 1. AS Level grades are not included. To meet the English language requirements, you are required to obtain an E (pass) grade in an approved English-intensive GCE A-Level subjectsInternational Baccalaureate (taken in NZ or overseas) - Completed International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with a minimum of 24 points.Entry to the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) requires an overall B- grade average, plus a B- grade or better in two English subjects and depending on the area chosen:Chemical and Biological, Environmental, Materials and Process• a B- grade in Bridging Chemistry• a B- grade in Bridging Physics and• a B- grade in Bridging Calculus and• at least a C- grade in every other subject.
