What will I learn?

Examine the history of visual art in detail, gaining a deeper understanding of your area of interest. You might choose to explore contemporary New Zealand art, 18th century French art, the theories and methodologies that have shaped art history or look at how artists write about art. You'll learn to carry out independent research and further develop your abilities to think critically and write effectively. With postgraduate study in Art History, you have the potential to make an original contribution to knowledge in the field. Some students have taken up opportunities to present research findings at national and international conferences.
