What will I learn?

This is an advanced accounting programme for accounting graduates working towards the academic requirements for professional body membership. It is relevant for students with overseas degrees in accounting wanting to get a New Zealand qualification and practical experience, and for those wishing to move into accounting from a related discipline.

This advanced-level programme will strengthen your accountancy skills. You will apply technical and professional standards, become a better team member and debate current issues in the field of accountancy. The programme provides an opportunity to apply your practical skills in the workplace.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

A recognised bachelor degree with minimum B- in the final year. English Language Requirements: IELTS Academic score of 6.5 with no band score lower than 6; TOEFL (pBT) Paper-based test Score of 590 (with an essay score 5.5 TWE); TOEFL (iBT) Internet-based test Score of 79 (with a writing score of 21);. Cambridge English Qualifications C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a score of 176. No less than 169 in each skill; PTE (Academic) score of 58 with no band score lower than 50.

For international students

  • A recognised degree, a professional qualification in a relevant discipline or the ability to demonstrate competencies equivalent to the above

If English is not your first language you need to have Academic IELTS score of 6.5 (6.0 in reading & writing, 5.5 in listening & speaking) or equivalent. Have achieved at least one English proficiency outcome in the last two years.
