What will I learn?

The Master of Applied Translation and Interpreting (MATI) gives students advanced language, cultural, and communication skills to work as professional interpreters and translators.The degree is highly practical, and includes the option to complete an internship organised by UC with agencies, government, or other organisations requiring translators and interpreters.You will also have the opportunity to study overseas for part of your degree for more in-depth language learning and immersion.Advanced language studies give graduates an exciting variety of national and international career prospects.Translation and interpreting skills are sought after in many industries, including media and entertainment, business, international relations, policy and diplomacy, publishing, tourism, marketing, teaching, and many more.

Entry requirements

For international students

Entry to the Master of Applied Translation and Interpreting requires:a bachelors degree with good grades, ora bachelors degree with relevant professional work experience, ora Postgraduate Certificate in Translation and Interpreting or Postgraduate Diploma in Translation and Interpreting with at least a B grade average, orother qualifications of an equivalent standard.
