Graduates of this qualification will be able toApply problem solving skills to a range of complex design challenges within a photographic contextConceptualise plan and produce a body of photographic workApply specialized conceptual creative and technical skills in photographic imagingApply specialized knowledge of software technologies relevant to a range of photographic applications and genresContextualise own photographic practice and evaluate the work of othersWork independently to meet complex project briefsPresent work in a manner that engages with othersApply professional ethical and business practices within photographic location and studio environmentsSatisfactory CompletionTo satisfactorily complete the New Zealand Diploma in Photography Level 6 and be awarded this qualification the student must successfully achieveA minimum of 120 credits in accordance with the Programme Schedule for the New Zealand Diploma in Photography Level 6The student will normally be expected to complete the New Zealand Diploma in Photography fulltime over one year or parttime over four yearsPlease Note Students failing to engage in study as per programme requirements may forfeit Zero Fees entitlement.Qualification PathwaysFor those wishing to pursue further study SIT offersBachelor of Screen Arts where students can specialise in either animation or digital filmmaking.
