What will I learn?

Electrical and electronic engineers are designing and developing technology to make our lives better, and building efficient and sustainable solutions to the challenges of the future. On this comprehensive and varied course, you will be supported to acquire the essential competencies for a successful career in electronics based industries. You'll have the opportunity to pick up specialised skills in areas such as Power Electronics, Advanced Control Systems or Music and Audio Programming.Study at a School undertaking world-leading research in networks, antenna design, electromagnetics and communication systems.Tailor your learning to your career trajectory by choosing from two streams of study.Work with the up-to-date technologies being pioneered by our research centres and groups.What you'll studyYou'll be part of an academic school with 125 years' experience in electrical engineering and electronics, where our expert academics will guide you through theory, lab practice, simulation and project work. You will learn to design complex electronic systems while considering the limitations imposed by practicality, regulation, safety and cost.You will devise and carry out a major dissertation, which you can choose to do in collaboration with an industrial partner (subject to availability).Professional RecognitionAccredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology on behalf of the Engineering Council as meeting the requirements for Further Learning for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Candidates must hold a CEng accredited BEng/BSc (Hons) undergraduate first degree to comply with full CEng registration requirements.
