What will I learn?

The UK's only Body Art degree. Tattoo, drag, transhumanism, performance – studied together for the first time.If you've ever felt like your alternative interests don’t fit with a traditional university course, this one was built for you. Body Art at UCA is the UK's first degree dedicated to the kinds of art – tattoo, drag, body modification, cosmetic enhancement, performance art – that has been, until now, on the sidelines. You’ll study the history, culture, and application of every form of body art – learning from legends and seeing first-hand how they shape subcultures and societies. You’ll get hands-on with transhumanism, body painting, and even tattooing – finding your own voice and developing your style in whichever discipline speaks to you most. We’re opening up and honouring the subject of body art creating a safe, supported space for you to express any and every creative instinct you have. The weird and the wonderful, the raw and the refined – wherever your instincts take you, we’ll help you turn your passions into a sustainable, creative profession.
