The University of Hull is a leader in AI education, with the highest number of enrolments for AI courses in the UK. The MSc Artificial Intelligence and Data Science programme is highly popular and designed for students from diverse academic backgrounds. It equips learners with the advanced skills and knowledge needed to leverage the transformative potential of emerging AI and data-driven technologies shaping the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Scholarships & funding

The university offers a range of international scholarships and awards to help students fund their studies. These are offered at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Funding opportunities include:

Commonwealth Scholarship

GREAT Scholarship – A minimum GBP 10,000 award for postgraduate taught students from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya and Mexico.

UG International Fee Waivers – SEA, EA, MENA, LATAM, South Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. A GBP 2,000 annual fee discount for undergraduate international students.

PGT International Fee Waivers – South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Up to GBP 5,000 tuition fee discount on a full-time postgraduate taught program (excluding PGDip and PGCert).

Eligibility

Entry requirements

In order to study at the University of Hull, students whose first language is not English or who need a student visa will need one of the University of Hull’s recognised English language tests.

For undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, the university accepts a number of tests and qualifications.

For most of the undergraduate courses, prospective students are required to have an overall IELTS score of 6.0, taken within two years of the start date of their chosen course. Applicants will also need to have at least 5.5 in all of the skills elements (reading, writing, speaking, and listening). There are some undergraduate courses that require a higher score; these can be found on the individual course listings on the University of Hull website.

For postgraduate study, English language requirements are raised to an IELTS score of 6.5. Applicants are advised to check the entry requirements on individual postgraduate course pages.

Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements can undertake a pre-sessional English Language course at the University of Hull.

Department structure

The University of Hull has four academic faculties:

Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Education

Subject areas in this faculty span a wide range of creative and social disciplines, including English, history, philosophy, creative writing, film, game and graphic design, media and music. It also covers education, teaching and childhood studies, as well as criminology, politics, law and related areas within the social sciences.

Hull University Business School

This faculty brings together Hull University Business School as part of a wider academic community dedicated to responsible management, sustainability and future-focused education. It offers a comprehensive range of subject areas, including accounting and finance, business and management, economics, marketing, and logistics and supply chain management, all supported by globally accredited teaching and industry connected expertise.

Faculty of Health Sciences

This faculty includes the Hull York Medical School and teaches subject areas including anatomy, biomedical and forensic science, criminology, health, nursing, midwifery, medicine, psychology, pharmacology, physiotherapy, social work, and sport, health and exercise science.

Faculty of Science and Engineering

This faculty is home to subject areas including artificial intelligence, biochemistry, biological science, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, computer science, electrical and electronic engineering, environmental science, geography, mathematics, mechanical engineering, physics and astrophysics, and robotics.
