What will I learn?

Children's nursing is a rewarding career involving caring for new-born babies in intensive care to looking after young people, whilst offering support to family members. The care they provide can span across a wide range of needs from the sick new-born baby to the young person who has a chronic disease. Wherever children require care, including their home, school, a residential setting or in hospital.

The field of Children & Young Peoples nursing enables you to develop the knowledge and skills to provide safe and effective nursing care to children and young people. This enables you to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a registered Child Nurse in a variety of health care settings.

Entry requirements

For international students

GCSEs at grade C 4 in an Englishbased subject and Maths or equivalent qualifications eg Key Skills Level 2 Learn Direct Level 2 Functional Skills Level 2 Please note we do NOT accept GCSE Short Courses PLUS EITHER 112 UCAS points A Levels grades BBC T Levels Equivalent to 112 UCAS points or higher in Health or Healthcare Science BTEC L3 Extended Diploma or OCR Cambridge L3 Technical Extended Diploma grades DMM CACHE Level 3 Extended Diploma at a B grade Access to HE Diploma 60 credits of which a minimum of 45 must be at Level 3 112 UCAS point equivalence minimum 15 credits at distinction IELTS - Overall Score of 6.0 with no component less than 5.5 TOEFL IBT - Overall Score of 60 with no component score less than 20.
