The Contemporary Art and the Moving Image MA is a collaborative master's degree offered jointly by King’s College London and the Courtauld Institute of Art. The MA Contemporary Art and the Moving Image provides an interdisciplinary context for the study of moving image and contemporary art, combining the expertise in film studies and critical theory in Arts and Humanities at King’s College London and the expertise in study of modern and contemporary art at the Courtauld Institute of Art. Students will be taught by a unique combination of specialist staff across the two institutions, covering time-based media, new media, and artists’ film and video from a number of different disciplinary and geographical contexts. The MA Contemporary Art and the Moving Image is taught in the heart of London, within easy reach of BFI Southbank (and the BFI Library), Tate Britain and Tate Modern, the Institute of Contemporary Art and Hayward Gallery.
