What will I learn?

MSc Cyber Security Technology is your gateway into a high demand, high impact career in cyber security, designed specifically for graduates from non-computing and non-STEM backgrounds.

You will follow a structured and supportive pathway that builds your technical knowledge, confidence, and professional capability from the ground up.

Created specifically for conversion students, the programme provides an accessible route into cyber security without assuming prior computing experience. You will begin by developing essential technical literacy through guided, lab-based learning in core computing principles, networking, and security fundamentals. This scaffolded approach enables you to progress step by step towards applied professional practice.

The curriculum is aligned with the Cyber Security Body of Knowledge, ensuring you gain expertise across security fundamentals, systems and networks, software and platform security, human and organisational factors, and cyber risk management. Teaching is practice focused, with workshops and problem-based activities that reflect real cyber security contexts.

Alongside technical skills, you will develop analytical thinking, professional communication, ethical awareness, and teamwork. By graduation, you will be prepared for entry level and early career roles in operational cyber security and Governance, Risk Management and Compliance, with a strong foundation for continued professional development.
