What will I learn?

Digital media drives global communication. It influences political discourse, transforms cultural production and redefines social relationships. This course will support you to understand and critically engage with the digital age. By studying at Sussex, you’ll: learn from influential, interdisciplinary researchers working across digital humanities explore powerful digital research methods that transform both academic inquiry and professional practice engage with provocative debates at the intersection of digital culture, humanities and innovation create compelling digital media products that push creative and technological boundaries develop skills in digital leadership, project management, research and critical thinking. Throughout your degree, you’ll explore cutting-edge concepts that are revolutionising how we think about the digital. You’ll also explore potential futures across the digital landscape. As a student, you’ll have access to our digital production facilities and our proximity to Brighton. Based in a creative city with a thriving digital media scene, you’ll be well-placed to engage with networking and collaboration opportunities. When you graduate, you’ll be prepared for careers in areas including: digital content creation social media digital marketing UX/UI design data visualisation media policy digital archiving digital transformation. Alternatively, you might launch your own digital startup or pursue doctoral study.

Entry requirements

For international students

Degree requirements: You should normally have an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree or above. Subject-specific requirements: Your qualification should be in a relevant subject such as art and design, computer design/science, cultural studies, interactive media, media studies, or social psychology. You can also apply for the course if you dont have the academic qualifications required, but can show relevant professional/creative skills and experience.
