What will I learn?

The MA Education is part of a suite of 3 routes for those with a continuing interest in developing their theory and practice in Education. Through this MA you will share sessions with those on the MA Inclusive Education and MA Education, Ethics and Leadership routes. This will support you to develop your understanding of different perspectives, developing your practice and critical thinking as you explore a range of key areas in education. This Master’s course provides education practitioners and policymakers from third and private sector organisations with key knowledge, skills and abilities. We’ll support you in sustaining and enhancing the effectiveness of your practice to pursue your career aspirations.The range of modules which form this MA Education route will enable you to focus and specialise, with choices built into the assessment requirements. The curriculum reflects the latest developments and contextual issues in education and is delivered by a team of dedicated and experienced teaching staff with specialist areas of expertise, who are all also involved in researching and publishing within the area. Study will include topics such as pedagogy, ethics in education, education policy, transformational education, the changing field in contemporary education, as well as approaches to educational research. Further information about this is available below. In the final stage of the Master’s you’ll complete a dissertation focusing on your choice of research topic within the field of education.

Entry requirements

For international students

At least a 2.2 honours degree equivalent in this subject area. We will consider a comparable professional or postgraduate qualification. Relevant work experience will also be taken into consideration.
