What will I learn?

Equip yourself with an international blend of journalism and media skills as part of a unique two-year master’s degree bringing together five leading European institutions under the prestigious Erasmus Mundus programme. Our journalistic specialism here at City is largely focused on crisis and conflict. You will learn as part of a diverse cohort from around the world in this prestigious Erasmus Mundus programme. The Mundus Journalism degree explores the practice and performance of journalism and the media in the context of globalisation, modernisation and commercialisation. We will give you relevant skills and knowledge concerning European journalism as you apply a global perspective to journalism before specialising in one journalistic field. You will gain an understanding of contemporary issues and debates in European journalism and acquire analytical skills and techniques to assess the merits of different approaches and theories.

Entry requirements

For international students

The course aims to admit highly-qualified students from a wide range of countries. Applicants will normally only be admitted if they have an honours degree or the equivalent from an international institution and should have the equivalent of at least three months' journalism work experience (including student journalism).
