Filmmaking - BA (Hons): Fees & Entry Requirements at University of Lancashire, UK

Filmmaking - BA (Hons)

UK

What will I learn?

Our BA (Hons) Filmmaking degree is a ‘hands-on’ course, focusing on industry practices and conventions, developing transferable skills in the independent film markets. Recognised by industry professionals, this degree delivers "strong emphasis on practical and vocational development" (Diarmid Scrimshaw, Producer ‘Tyrannosaur’) and prepares ''exceptionally professional'' students (Derrin Schlesinger, Producer, ‘This is England’, ‘Four Lions’, ‘Babylon’). Our course offers scope to develop both personal creative expression and professional level skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. Through the success of this progressive programme we have seen students and graduates regularly appear in the credits of major TV and cinema releases. Our Film Production students have been Oscar nominated in 2014 and won the Royal Television Society awards more times than any other university in the North West. You’ll focus on professional and creative development in a variety of formats including narrative, documentary, independent short film and the feature film. You will also explore the theoretical aspects of Film language and its influence on modern production techniques, its historical context and philosophical underpinnings.
