What will I learn?

The Department of Geography and Environment's interdisciplinary research addresses societal challenges, earth surface and near-subsurface processes, and environmental change. Research in the Department of Geography and Environment draws on the perspectives informed by the social, environmental, and physical sciences to address societal challenges and to understand the impacts of environmental change, both natural and anthropogenic, on the physical environment, from the local to global scales. It is our aim to produce exemplary interdisciplinary research in areas relevant to the theory, practice and governance of societal and environmental change. Our research is organised into three broad research themes: Smart Sustainable Futures Earth Surface Processes Palaeoecology
