In your first year, you’ll learn about the main functions of an organisation, how different areas work together, and the critical role management plays in ensuring everything runs smoothly.You’ll also explore global business issues and understand how they affect international, regional, and local markets. We’ll guide you in engaging with relevant research and current debates to help you stay updated with the industry.The course includes modules to improve your academic writing and numeracy skills, giving you the tools to succeed in your degree. You’ll also have the chance to work on a small project related to your area of study, helping you develop independent learning while receiving regular support from your tutors. This Foundation Year will set you up for success in your chosen field.Course structureThis course can be studied full-time over 12 months.You'll be taught by passionate academics who produce world-leading and internationally excellent research, and throughout your degree you'll have one-to-one support from academic staff. A typical week for you will include lectures, seminars, tutorials, open and resource-based learning, and supervised project and group work. There's an emphasis on developing independent study skills. You'll also have opportunities to present ideas and information to other students and develop concepts and analyses within groups.
