If you’ve finished high school with good grades, but don’t meet the entry requirements for university, an International Year One, or IYO for short, can help you gain entry to the second year of an undergraduate degree. Studying an IYO gives you the chance to combine academic preparation with the first year of an undergraduate degree. You can improve your English language level, academic skills and subject knowledge. For entry to the 2nd year of an undergraduate degree at Nottingham Trent University. Your course length is determined mainly by your English language level (UKVI IELTS score or accepted equivalent). All students take a set of common or similar modules to gain key skills for university. If your course is longer than 2 terms, you’ll take extra modules focusing on one or more of English language, academic skills and basic subject knowledge.
