What will I learn?

BA (Hons) Jewellery & Silversmithing with integrated Foundation Year is a four-year degree programme, including an integrated foundation year to help develop your skills and creativity before you start the first year of the degree course.Forty benches. One of them is yours.Fine metal makers learn through heat, pressure and patience. They find their ideas at the bench, not just on the page. This is a course built for that instinct – where hands-on learning and creative experimentation run through the heart of your growth as a craftsperson.Based in the UK's first UNESCO World Craft Town, you'll develop your practice on dedicated jewellery benches, specialist casting facilities, and workshops for everything from traditional raising and forging to CAD/CAM and digital fabrication. Your tutors are practising makers. Your technical teams are expert craftspeople. Your learning happens through your hands. You'll graduate with technical depth, a distinctive creative voice, and the professional resilience to build a lasting career – whether that's your own studio practice or a role within an established maker.
