Study one, two or three languages on our three-year BA Modern Languages course.This degree is similar to our four-year BA Modern Languages course, but does not include a year abroad. The three-year degree is aimed at students who are unable to spend a year abroad because of special circumstances – contact languages@reading.ac.uk to find out more.You’ll choose to study up to three of our core languages: French, German, Italian, and Spanish. These languages are offered at intermediate and advanced level.Our course also allows you to combine up to two core languages with one or two of our additional languages.Choose from: Arabic, British Sign Language, Chinese (Mandarin), Modern Greek, Japanese, and Russian.You’ll spend eight weeks on a placement in a language-rich environment to expand your language skills and develop your intercultural understanding of your language(s).
