What will I learn?

The global population faces unprecedented threats from rising temperatures, sea level rise and extreme weather. Responding to these challenges requires combined mitigation and adaptation. Accredited by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), this MSc programme will prepare graduates to make change happen, giving you the skills to keep pace with cutting edge research, understand the policy and governance frameworks for climate change and sustainable futures, and implement evidence-based mitigation and adaptation strategies. This MSc equips students with the knowledge and practical skills to address the challenges of climate change through both policy and practice. Grounded in the fundamental principles of climate processes, impacts, mitigation and adaptation, the programme draws on internationally recognised research across the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences. From climate hazards and hydrological change to ecological resilience, sustainable planning, and governance, students will gain interdisciplinary expertise to lead and influence climate action across sectors.
