What will I learn?

This MSc trains population scientists to tackle global challenges in population trends. Some of the most critical global issues are demographic in nature, creating a growing demand for trained demographers to contribute to population policy, practice and research. On this programme, you will study the complex interaction of population dynamics with socioeconomic, political and environmental factors, understand the processes that govern population change, and learn to assess population trends and policies from a critical perspective. Your training will include cutting-edge techniques in demographic estimation, population projections and data analytics, and is designed to prepare you for advanced work in this vital and evolving field.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants should hold a degree at 2:2 level or equivalent in a relevant subject. Those without a qualifying degree may still be considered based on relevant experience. This MSc also requires evidence of numeracy skills and a background in a related discipline (e.g. social sciences, maths, statistics, medicine).
